The 10 Stages Of Concrete Pool Installation
If anyone reading this is thinking about having a concrete pool installed on their property, then the first thing we say is congratulations and we hope it comes to pass. A pool not only adds value to a property, but more immediately it is a great focal point for your family and friends to come together and have some fun.
You need to be aware that the process from the initial decision to have a concrete pool, until it is completed and ready to use, is considerable.
To give you a better idea of how you go from idea to a finished pool, building maintenance and landscape experts share with us the 10 stages which the installation of a concrete pool must pass through.
#1 Ideas, Design, and Commitment
Admittedly that is three but together they form the process of your initial ideas, the design of your pool, and you agreeing to it and then making the commitment via a contract with your pool installation company to go ahead and start work
#2 Initial Digging
The digging out of the hollow where your pool is going to be is the stage where you might be thinking ‘What have I done?’ given that it causes considerable upheaval in and around your property. As the excavation proceeds you will start to see the initial shape of your pool within the earthwork.
#3 Steel Work Installation
The bending and forming of the steel framework to form what is essentially the foundations of your pool is a skilled job, and one which is essential to reinforce the shell of the pool.
#4 Plumbing and Electrical Installation
The circulation of the water in the swimming pool and the drainage are critical, and this obviously requires fully qualified plumbers to install it. Electricians will install the cables and wiring needed for it plus the pool lights and pool heating.
#5 Pressurised Concrete Laying
For this you can expect more heavy machinery on your property. The concrete will be poured within the steel framework that was previously built. As part of this process, the concrete will need several more days to go through a process called curing, which strengthens it to withstand the pressure created by the water.
#6 Tiling And Decking
This is where the surfaces and the surrounds of the pool are finished and decorated by tilers. The design that you choose all that time ago now starts to appear before your eyes as the aesthetics of the pool are enhanced.
#7 Finishing The Interior
This is the work done on the interior where coatings might be applied to the surfaces and any decorative finishes are added to the pool. When this is complete you are at the point where the pool can finally be filled with water.
#8 Initial Pool Start-Up
This is where technicians will check the circulation pump is working, set timers, and there will also be a team scrubbing the pool surfaces so that they are clean, and the pool is ready for use.
#9 Finishing Touches
With the pool almost ready for use, the final pieces of work around it will include the finishing of the decking which usually involve a final coat of paint to add the necessary shine.
#10 Landscaping
Now that the pool is complete, thoughts will turn to landscaping the rest of the garden to complement it. whilst not necessarily as big a commitment as the pool, it will still need careful thought and planning.
