The Green Roundtable has been a leading force in putting sustainable design on the map in New England. Our work has involved legislators, educators, state and city agencies, major design firms, property owners and developers. We are recognized as the 'go-to' organization for issues related to sustainable design ranging from energy efficiency to sick building syndrome, and have leveraged our networked position to help build a cohesive community of previously unrelated entities.
Current planning and building practices cause significant harm to humans and the environment, from planning practices that ignore natural resource flows to construction materials that contain persistent bioaccumulative toxins. All of our programs focus on promoting sustainable development to protect and regenerate natural resources and eliminate toxins and harmful practices that damage public and environmental health.
We take a 'systems' approach to everything we do. It is the integration and links between our program areas of education, policy and technical assistance that make our work effective.
